Lemon Tree Hotels Limited — New Orders, 04-12-2024: Awarding of order(s)/contract(s)

Lemon Tree Hotels has received a Letter of Award from the Government of Meghalaya for the redevelopment, operation, and maintenance of the Orchid Hotel in Shillong. This project marks the company’s first Public Private Partnership (PPP), which will be executed through a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) that may form a joint venture with approval from the Board of Directors.

The hotel, rebranded as Aurika, Shillong, is set to open within the next three years and will feature approximately 120 upscale rooms, a restaurant, bar, fitness center, banquet facilities, and spa. The project is expected to benefit from various capital subsidies and incentives under the Meghalaya Industrial & Investment Promotion Policy and the Uttar Poorva Transformative Industrialisation Scheme.

Mr. Patanjali G. Keswani, Chairman and Managing Director, expressed enthusiasm for redeveloping the property, indicating a positive outlook for the company’s presence in the tourism-rich region of Meghalaya. This strategic move could enhance Lemon Tree's footprint and operational capacity in the growing hospitality market.
