Shareholders at the Extraordinary General Meeting have elected Shri Hemant Buch as a Shareholder Director of Canara Bank. His appointment is effective from 30th November 2024, succeeding Shri Karunakara Shetty, whose tenure concludes the day before. Shri Buch brings over 30 years of experience from the Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), where he has held various key positions, including leading divisions in Mumbai, Rajkot, and Surat. He is currently serving as Executive Director at LIC since April 2022. This change in leadership may enhance strategic insights in the bank’s operations and foster growth through his extensive experience in the insurance sector.
