Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has expanded its partnership with SPARSH, the pension administration system for India's defence personnel, for an additional three years. This contract extension aims to enhance efficiency in pension services for over 30 lakh defence pensioners by centralizing the disbursement process and eliminating bank service charges, which has saved the government approximately Rs 250 crore annually. Since its rollout in October 2020, TCS has drastically reduced pension processing timelines from up to 18 months to just 14 days, with first-time payments now processed within five to seven days. TCS also played a crucial role in implementing the One Rank One Pension scheme, significantly speeding up processing times. The continued collaboration reflects TCS's commitment to leveraging technology for public service efficiency, benefiting defence personnel and reinforcing its capabilities in large-scale digital transformations.
