The President of Ghana has commissioned the Tema-Mpakadan Standard Gauge Railway Line, a significant infrastructure project executed by Afcons Infrastructure Limited at a cost of approximately US$447 million. This 100-kilometer railway line is a key part of Ghana's first multimodal transport system, enhancing connectivity between Tema Port and Buipe Port via the Volta Lake. Key features include a 300-meter railway bridge over the Volta River, the longest in the country, along with seven passenger stations, various rail and road bridges, and facilities designed to improve port operations and reduce road congestion. The project, financed through India Exim Bank credit, represents Afcons' commitment to modernizing Ghana's railway infrastructure and highlights its capability in executing complex engineering projects. This development is expected to positively impact local transport efficiencies and economic growth. Shareholders should watch closely as this milestone may enhance Afcons' market reputation and open further opportunities in international infrastructure projects.
