Muthoot Microfin has initiated loan disbursals under a co-lending partnership with the State Bank of India (SBI), allowing for an asset creation cap of ₹500 crore, with distributions made in tranches of ₹100 crore. The loans, ranging between ₹50,000 and ₹3 lakhs, primarily target members of Joint Liability Groups (JLGs) involved in agriculture and other income-generating activities.
Currently operational in 20 states and 369 districts, Muthoot Microfin aims to expand this initiative nationwide, enhancing credit access for rural entrepreneurs. The collaboration with SBI facilitates lower interest rates, promoting affordable loans and driving financial inclusion in underserved communities.
