Bank of India has recently received credit ratings reaffirmed for its long-term infrastructure bonds and tier II bonds, now rated at CARE AA+ with a stable outlook. Additionally, a new rating of CARE AA has been assigned to its additional tier I bonds. The total amount involved includes ₹5,000 crore for infrastructure bonds, ₹3,000 crore for tier II bonds, and ₹2,500 crore for the additional tier I bonds. These credit ratings reflect the supportive ownership structure and capital infusions from the Government of India (GOI), which holds a 73.38% stake. The bank has shown improvement in asset quality, with gross non-performing assets (GNPA) reduced to 4.98% and net non-performing assets (NNPA) at 1.22%. However, there remains some risk related to moderate profitability levels. Investors should monitor the bank's ability to sustain its asset quality improvements and manage profitability effectively moving forward. Overall, this development presents a positive outlook for the bank’s financial health and future growth potential.
