Hyundai Motor India Limited — Important, 20-11-2024: Agreements
Hyundai Motor India Ltd. has executed Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) to enhance its renewable energy sources. The agreements, signed with FPEL TN Wind Farm Private Limited, cover a Solar Power Plant with a capacity of 75 MW and a Wind Power Plant with a capacity of 42.9 MW, totaling 118 MW under a Group Captive Model. The company plans to invest approximately ₹38.05 crore to acquire a minimum 26% stake in the special purpose vehicle (SPV). This strategic move is aimed at securing a long-term supply of renewable energy for a period of 25 years, which underscores Hyundai's commitment to sustainability and may mitigate energy costs moving forward. Investors should watch closely for potential benefits from increased operational efficiency and leaps in green credentials, although initial investments could weigh on short-term financials.
