The Birla Opus Paints plant in Chamarajanagar, Karnataka, has commenced commercial production, marking the fourth of six planned facilities. This expansion increases Grasim Industries' paint manufacturing capacity to 866 Million Litres Per Annum (MLPA), positioning Birla Opus Paints as the second largest player in the decorative paints market by installed capacity. The fully automated plant will produce water-based and solvent-based paints, contributing to Grasim's strategy to cater to growing domestic demand. The company aims for a revenue target of ₹10,000 Cr within three years, and initial product offerings have garnered positive feedback. Ongoing development includes two additional plants, with one in trial production, indicating a strong operational momentum and positive outlook for future growth.
