TotalEnergies and Oil India Limited (OIL) have partnered to collaborate on methane emissions detection and measurement at OIL’s sites in India, utilizing TotalEnergies' advanced AUSEA technology. This move aligns with OIL's recent commitment to the Oil and Gas Decarbonization Charter (OGDC), aimed at achieving net-zero operations by 2050 and near-zero upstream methane emissions by 2030. The AUSEA technology, mounted on a drone, is noted for its capability to accurately detect methane and carbon dioxide emissions, providing significant advantages over traditional methods.

Additionally, OIL and TotalEnergies have signed a Technical Service Agreement focusing on the drilling of stratigraphic wells in Indian offshore waters. This initiative aims to enhance hydrocarbon exploration through the acquisition of critical subsurface data and petroleum system modeling studies, supporting India's goal of boosting offshore hydrocarbons extraction and attracting international investment in the exploration sector. The collaboration emphasizes the potential for driving forward energy advancements and sustainability efforts in the region.
