Mangalam Alloys Limited has announced a board meeting to consider the half-year financial results ending September 30, 2024.

The company reported total revenue of ₹1,997.80 crores for the half-year, reflecting a significant increase compared to the previous year's corresponding period. This growth can be attributed to rising demand in key markets and improved operational efficiencies.

Net profit for the period stood at ₹94.15 crores, a drop from ₹802.85 crores year-over-year, translating to an Earnings Per Share (EPS) of ₹3.81. The decline in profit is primarily driven by higher operational costs and reduced income, which must be taken into consideration for future quarters.

Operational costs increased by approximately 15%, impacted by rising material and employee expenses, indicating a need for tighter cost control measures to boost profitability moving forward.

The balance sheet indicates a healthy position, with total assets amounting to ₹44,618.94 crores and liabilities at ₹26,082.24 crores, showcasing strong equity levels. However, short-term borrowings rose by 37% to ₹13,539.14 crores, which may raise concerns regarding liquidity in the near term.

Strategically, Mangalam Alloys seems focused on maintaining market presence and refining cost structures under challenging operating conditions. The current market sentiment remains cautious, weighing the impact of reduced profitability against a backdrop of revenue growth.

Given the financial performance and outlook, investors may consider a 'hold' as the company navigates cost challenges while aiming for revenue stability.
