Deepak Nitrite Limited — Important, 13-11-2024: Agreements

Deepak Chem Tech Limited (DCTL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Deepak Nitrite Limited, has embarked on an ambitious project to manufacture Polycarbonate Resins (PC) with a total investment of around ₹5,000 Crore. This project, involving greenfield infrastructure, is aimed at bolstering domestic production capabilities and reducing reliance on imports, which currently exceed 240,000 Metric Tonnes annually.

DCTL has entered into agreements with Trinseo, a significant player in engineering polymers, to acquire essential technology licenses and manufacturing assets with an annual capacity of 165,000 Metric Tonnes, located in Germany. The integration of Trinseo's renowned CALIBRE™ brand assets will enhance product credibility and accelerate approval cycles for new and existing consumers in India. The strategic decision aligns with Deepak's roadmap to vertically integrate manufacturing starting from basic raw materials and is anticipated to see the commencement of operations by the fourth quarter of FY 2028.

This initiative signals a strong positive outlook for Deepak Nitrite as it consolidates its position in the advanced materials market while capitalizing on emerging opportunities in various sectors, including automotive and electronics.
