SBI's latest ratings reflect its dominant position in the Indian banking sector, categorized as a domestic systemically important bank. India Ratings has affirmed the long-term issuer rating at 'IND AAA/Stable' while also assigning similar ratings to its long-term bonds. The bank has demonstrated robust financial health with a significant increase in gross advances, which stood at ₹39,20,719 crore, marking a 14.93% YoY growth. Similarly, total deposits rose to ₹51,17,285 crore.
CARE Ratings has also reaffirmed multiple debt instruments, including infrastructure and tier II bonds, underscoring SBI's systemic importance and government support. The bank's profitability improved, with net profit reaching ₹61,077 crore and an RoA of 1.04%. Asset quality showed positive momentum, as gross NPA ratios decreased to 2.13%. Despite some decline in CASA deposits, liquidity remains strong, ensuring stable funding. Overall, SBI is well-positioned for sustained growth, maintaining adequate capitalization and revenue stability, making it a hold for investors.
