The upgrade focuses on expanding the IEC LV motor manufacturing unit, incorporating renewable energy solutions, including in-house solar power generation of 180 MWh in 2023. The facility promotes low-carbon operations and has achieved 'Platinum level Green Factory Buildings' certification from the Indian Green Building Council.

The facility is a crucial hub for high-energy efficient IE3 and IE4 motors and specialized variants like flameproof and smoke extraction motors, which meet the diverse needs of Indian industries. ABB is committed to boosting local manufacturing capabilities while achieving a zero waste to landfill target, diverting around 99% of waste.
