Vedanta Limited — Important, 08-11-2024: Capacity addition

Vedanta Limited's Board approved significant expansions and acquisitions. Bharat Aluminium Company Limited will enhance smelter capacity by 435 KTPA and add wire rod capacity. They are investing ₹11,816 Crores. The Athena Chhattisgarh Power Plant Project received ₹5,209 Crores in Capex approval, with two 600 MW units scheduled to be operational by FY 2025-26. Additionally, Sesa Resources Limited will acquire 100% of Sterlite Iron and Steel Company Limited for ₹1 lakh, making it a step-down subsidiary.
