Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Ltd. (GRSE) has signed a ₹491 crore contract with the Naval Physical & Oceanographic Laboratory (NPOL) for the design and construction of an Acoustic Research Ship (ARS). This vessel will enhance India's research capabilities in oceanography and acoustics, featuring advanced systems for data collection and a speed range of 4 to 12 knots. The project is expected to be completed within 36 months.
