Power Grid Corporation of India Limited — Important, 13-03-2025: General Updates

The "Committee of Directors on Investment on Projects" of POWERGRID has approved significant investments for two key infrastructure projects.

The first project involves a transmission scheme for the evacuation of power from the Ratle (850 MW) and Kiru (624 MW) Hydro Electric Projects, with estimated costs of Rs. 177.38 Crore for Part I and Rs. 41.17 Crore for Part II. This scheme is set to be commissioned by July 14, 2026, or coinciding with the completion of the associated Part A scheme, whichever is later.

The second project focuses on augmenting transformation capacity by adding two 500 MVA transformers at the Tumkur (Pavagada) 400/220kV Pooling Station in Karnataka. This includes implementing a new 220kV line bay for connecting renewable energy generation projects, with an estimated cost of Rs. 123.02 Crore and a commissioning date of May 20, 2026. These initiatives are likely to enhance POWERGRID's operational capabilities and contribute positively to its growth trajectory.
