Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers & Chemicals Limited (GNFC) has awarded a contract to thyssenkrupp Udhe India Private Limited (TKUIPL) for the supply of a Weak Nitric Acid-III plant with a capacity of 600 MTPD, equating to approximately 2,00,000 MTPA. This initiative follows board approval in August 2024 and aims to leverage TKUIPL's expertise, supported by their parent company’s technology. The new plant is expected to enhance GNFC's existing nitric acid production capacity by around 57%, addressing downstream requirements and contributing to the Make in India campaign while upholding environmental standards. This development positions GNFC favorably within the market for Weak Nitric Acid in India.
