Airtel has landed the 2Africa Pearls cable in India, marking a significant milestone in connecting the country to Africa and Europe via the Middle East. This partnership with center3 and Meta introduces over 100Tbps of international capacity, enhancing Airtel's global network to support India’s digital growth ambitions. Sharat Sinha, Director & CEO of Airtel Business, emphasized the importance of this addition for network resilience and reliability, following recent investments such as the SEA-WE-ME-6 cable in Chennai and Mumbai. The 2Africa Pearls cable is part of an extensive subsea cable system, which when complete will span over 45,000 kilometers. Airtel's global network now encompasses 400,000 Rkms across 50 countries, with significant investments in 34 cables, reinforcing its position as a leading communications provider. This development indicates a positive outlook for Airtel as it continues to innovate and expand its network capabilities.
