Cineline India Limited — Updates, 01-04-2025: Press Release
Cineline India Limited has successfully monetized its hotel asset, “Hyatt Centric” in Goa, for an enterprise value of INR 270 crore, leading to a significant debt reduction of INR 120 crore. The proceeds will facilitate the total repayment of the company's outstanding debt of INR 108 crore related to its film exhibition business, achieving a net debt-free status, which is expected to save approximately INR 22 crore annually in debt servicing.
Since launching the “MovieMAX” brand in April 2022, Cineline has operationalized 77 screens and secured another 82 in the pipeline. The company aims to bolster its film exhibition business through a three-pronged strategy: generating sustainable free cash flow, adopting a ‘capital-light’ growth model by partnering for new screen developments, and expanding via a revenue-sharing approach to mitigate fixed expenses.
With a strengthened financial position and a focus on core operations, Cineline is poised for growth, aiming to leverage innovative strategies to tap into the anticipated box office revival, representing a substantial opportunity for investors.
