Paytm has partnered with the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) to deploy over 400 card machines for streamlined property tax collection. This initiative integrates the Paytm machines with the GHMC app, allowing citizens to pay property taxes using credit cards, debit cards, and QR codes, enhancing efficiency by eliminating cash, cheque, and demand draft payments. Currently, GHMC collects ₹5-7 crore in property tax monthly, with peaks of ₹22 crore during mid-year and fiscal year-end collections.
The collaboration aims to increase convenience for residents while ensuring swift transactions and improved transparency in tax payments. Paytm continues to enhance its services by introducing innovative features like UPI statement downloads and direct stock trade payments. Furthermore, the company is expanding its global footprint, enabling UPI payments in several international markets including the UAE and Singapore, which highlights its commitment to technological advancements and digitization of public services.
