Reliance has broken ground on its first Compressed Bio-Gas (CBG) plant in Kanigiri, Andhra Pradesh, marking the beginning of a significant investment plan of Rs. 65,000 crores across 500 CBG hubs in the state. The inaugural plant, with a project cost of Rs. 139 crores, will use Napier grass cultivated on barren lands, supporting local farmers through lease revenues and thus bolstering the rural economy. The project is projected to generate approximately 40 lakh tonnes of green CBG and 1.1 million metric tonnes of organic fertilizer annually, creating around 250,000 jobs in rural areas. Reliance aims to transform waste into sustainable energy and improve farmers' livelihoods, aligning with Andhra Pradesh’s clean energy initiatives. This ambitious plan reflects Reliance's ongoing commitment to innovation and community development while bolstering its presence in renewable energy. Stakeholders should monitor this development as it posits substantial economic and ecological benefits for the region.
