Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited — Updates, 02-04-2025: Press Release

Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd (MDL) has reached a significant milestone with the Keel Laying Ceremony for the first Multi-Purpose Vessel (MPV) – Yard 21001, commissioned by M/s Navi Merchants Denmark. This ceremony took place at MDL's South Yard and was presided over by CMD Mr. Biju George.

MDL is set to design, construct, and deliver six vessels under the contract with Navi Merchants, each valued at approximately 14 million USD. The vessels will measure 116.2 meters in length with a deadweight capacity of 7,500 tonnes and are designed to achieve speeds of at least 11.0 knots. Expected delivery for the first vessel is slated for April 2026. This development emphasizes MDL's capabilities and strengthens its position in the shipbuilding industry, showcasing a positive outlook for future projects.
