BHEL has signed a contract with Rajasthan Part I Power Transmission Limited, in partnership with Hitachi Energy India Limited, to create a ±800 kV, 6000 MW HVDC Terminal Station connecting Bhadla, Rajasthan, to Fatehpur, Uttar Pradesh. This project, aimed for completion by 2029, will enhance the transmission of renewable energy and support India’s goal of achieving 500 GW of power from renewable sources by 2030. It marks the fourth UHVDC project awarded to BHEL, building on their previous successful HVDC ventures. They will provide critical equipment like Converter Transformers and Thyristor Valves, alongside establishing a significant power evacuation system. This initiative underscores BHEL's commitment to the 'Make in India' initiative and solidifies its leadership in India's power generation and transmission sectors. Investors should monitor BHEL for potential growth stemming from this strategic partnership and ongoing government support for renewable energy initiatives.
