Lumax Industries LimitedCredit Ratings, 04-04-2025: Credit Rating

Lumax Industries Limited has announced a board meeting regarding its credit ratings. ICRA has reaffirmed both the short-term rating of [ICRA]A1 and the long-term rating of [ICRA]A+ with a stable outlook. The reaffirmation reflects the company's steady operational performance and strong presence in the automotive lighting sector, particularly as a leading supplier in the passenger vehicle segment in India.

Lumax reported strong revenue growth of approximately 31% YoY in the first nine months of FY2025, primarily driven by solid demand from key clients like Mahindra & Mahindra and Tata Motors. This growth positions the company well for sustained performance, contributing to a revenue of ₹2,477 crore (approximately).

Net profit for the period stands at ₹40.4 crore, influenced by rising raw material costs and increasing fixed overheads, contributing to a year-over-year decline in net profit margins. Operational efficiency remains a focus as the company manages rising costs amid its ongoing capacity expansion efforts.

While leveraging was noted to have increased due to debt-funded capital expenditures, the balance sheet continues to exhibit resilience, with a debt level of ₹795.7 crore as of September 2024. ICRA projects a gradual improvement in credit metrics given healthy cash flow generation, which is expected to reach ₹100-120 crore annually, supporting liquidity.

Given the continued operational strength, positive market outlook, and commitment to improving credit metrics despite short-term pressures, the stock presents a suitable opportunity for investors seeking to explore potential growth in the automotive components sector.
