India Power Corporation Limited and ChargET have launched a 24x7 Electric Vehicle (EV) charging hub in Salt Lake, Kolkata, designed to accommodate 60 vehicles. This hub is notable for being the only public and commercial EV charging station in the area, with plans to upgrade to a solar-powered facility generating 60 kW, expected to reduce CO₂ emissions by 694 metric tonnes annually.

This initiative aligns with the growing demand for EV infrastructure as the market is projected to expand at a CAGR of over 44% from 2023 to 2030. The collaboration not only supports the EV ecosystem but also positions India Power as a leader in sustainable energy, providing over 80% of its power from renewable sources. This strategic move is anticipated to enhance community development and green mobility, making it a significant step toward achieving India's net-zero emission goals.
