Swan Defence and Heavy Industries Limited (SDHI) has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Limited (GRSE) to enhance indigenous commercial shipbuilding capabilities. This partnership aligns with the Government's Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative and aims to strengthen India’s shipbuilding ecosystem.

The collaboration seeks to jointly explore opportunities in constructing commercial vessels and offshore structures, focusing on both domestic and global markets. By combining their resources in design, infrastructure, and project execution, SDHI and GRSE expect to create a scalable model for shipbuilding. The partnership will facilitate resource sharing, co-development of standard vessel platforms, and coordinated project management strategies, which aim to improve turnaround times and cost-efficiency.

Moreover, the MoU emphasizes the development of a strong vendor and supply chain ecosystem and invests in building skilled manpower to support industry growth.
