Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) has signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with NTPC Limited for a 200 MW Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) Project, boosting its total renewable utility capacity to 10.9 GW. This project, which will be completed in 24 months, aims to generate approximately 1,300 million units of electricity annually, significantly cutting over 1 million tons of CO₂ emissions. The project includes a commitment to ensure peak power supply availability of at least 90% during high demand hours, addressing the growing energy needs of distribution companies. As part of its strategic growth, TPREL maintains a diversified portfolio of 5.5 GW operational capacity, including solar and wind projects, with an additional 5.4 GW under various stages of implementation. This initiative reinforces TPREL's leadership in India's renewable energy sector, positioning it strongly for future growth and sustainability efforts.
