Cairn Oil & Gas, part of Vedanta Group, has acquired seven new exploration blocks in the OALP Round IX auction, making it the largest private player in this round. With these additions, Cairn's total portfolio expands to 69 blocks, covering approximately 73,000 sq.km, supporting its vision to contribute to 50% of India’s domestic crude production. The new blocks include four onshore and three shallow-water sites located in the Cambay, Saurashtra, and Mumbai hydrocarbon basins. This strategic expansion aligns with Cairn's ongoing commitment to increasing its oil and gas exploration and production capabilities.
