IDFC First Bank Limited — Others, 17-04-2025: Shareholders meeting
IDFC FIRST Bank has announced a board meeting to discuss a postal ballot seeking shareholder approval for several significant measures. These include re-classifying the authorized share capital to 1,270 crore equity shares of ₹10 each and 130 crore preference shares of ₹10 each, and the issuance of up to 124.99 crore Compulsorily Convertible Cumulative Preference Shares (CCPS) at a price of ₹60 each to Currant Sea Investments B.V. and Platinum Invictus B 2025 RSC Limited. Additionally, the bank plans to amend its Articles of Association to allow Currant Sea Investments B.V. the right to nominate a non-retiring non-executive director.
This strategic move aims to bolster the bank's capital adequacy from 16.1% to 18.9%, enabling further growth in retail and MSME loans while enhancing governance. Investors might view this as a positive outlook due to the potential for expanded operational capacity and improved financial strength, although it could also imply dilution of existing shares.
