ABB plans to spin off its robotics division as a separately listed entity, targeting a listing in the second quarter of 2026. The proposal will be presented at the Annual General Meeting in 2026, and if accepted, shareholders will receive shares in the new company as a dividend in-kind, maintaining proportional ownership.

The ABB Robotics division, a leader in intelligent automation solutions, generated 2024 revenues of approximately $2.3 billion, accounting for about 7% of ABB Group revenues, with an Operational EBITA margin of 12.1%. This division has shown strong performance despite market volatility, demonstrating double-digit margin resilience since 2019.

Both Peter Voser, Chairman, and Morten Wierod, CEO, emphasized that the spin-off will enhance value creation by allowing each company to focus on its core business strategies. The separation aims to optimize governance and capital allocation, with ABB continuing its focus on electrification and automation as ABB Robotics operates with a robust growth outlook. Investors should consider this potential growth opportunity closely.
