Jindal Stainless has partnered with AB Energia Solutions to install Odisha's largest captive industrial solar plant at their Jajpur facility, boasting over 30 MWp capacity. This new setup includes a 7.324 MWp floating solar plant and a 23.02 MWp rooftop solar system, designed to generate approximately 44.3 million units of green energy annually. This initiative will significantly cut CO₂ emissions by 32,208 metric tonnes per year, equivalent to planting 1,288 trees, while also reducing the facility's reliance on conventional grid electricity.

Managing Director Abhyuday Jindal emphasized the project’s role in advancing their Net Zero goals, showcasing a commitment to sustainable practices within the stainless steel manufacturing sector. The company is also set to invest INR 700 crore in decarbonization projects over the next five years, aiming for a consolidated annual turnover target of INR 38,562 crore by FY24 and enhancing their annual melt capacity to 4.2 million tonnes by FY27.

This landmark project positions Jindal Stainless as a leader in sustainable manufacturing, responding to the increasing demand for low-carbon 'green steel' on a global scale.
