Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited — Updates, 25-04-2025: Press Release
The Hon’ble Prime Minister has laid the foundation stone for a new LPG Bottling Plant with a Rail Unloading Facility in Hathua, Gopalganj District, Bihar. This project, valued at ₹340.15 Crore, is projected for completion by March 31, 2027, and will have a capacity of 180 Thousand Metric Tons Per Annum (TMTPA).
The facility aims to enhance LPG availability in North-West and North Central Bihar, creating an estimated 1.2 lakh man-days of employment during construction. Importantly, it will significantly contribute to energy security in the region while promoting sustainable development by reducing carbon emissions traditionally linked to road transport, with an anticipated annual reduction of around 11,000 MT Co2e, equivalent to planting 5 lakh trees.
Overall, this initiative reflects a strategic move by Bharat Petroleum towards improving operational efficiency and addressing the growing energy demands of the region. Investors should watch closely for impacts on regional market dynamics and potential growth opportunities linked to this development.
