GAIL (India) Ltd. and Container Corporation of India (CONCOR) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore the use of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) as an alternative fuel for CONCOR's logistics fleet. This collaboration aims to assess the feasibility of LNG as a cleaner and more cost-effective option compared to diesel, promoting reduced emissions and lower operational costs.
GAIL, which holds the largest LNG portfolio in the country, emphasizes its capacity as a reliable supplier, stating that LNG is set to transform the transportation sector in India. CONCOR's initiatives include establishing an LNG station at MMLP Khatuwas and acquiring a fleet of 130 LNG trailers, leading to significant reductions in carbon footprints. This partnership highlights a commitment to sustainable logistics, positioning both companies favorably in the evolving energy landscape.
