Vodafone Idea Limited — Updates, 28-04-2025: Press Release
Vodafone Idea has launched its 5G services in Chandigarh and Patna, effective April 28, 2025, allowing Vi customers with compatible devices to access advanced mobile connectivity. This rollout follows a successful introduction in Mumbai, where over 70% of eligible users are leveraging Vi's 5G, accounting for 20% of total network data traffic. The company plans to expand 5G services to Delhi and Bangalore in May, coinciding with enhancements at major cricket stadiums for the T20 League, enabling high-speed internet access to fans.
Vi is offering unlimited 5G data on plans starting from Rs. 299, aimed at enhancing user experiences across various applications like streaming and gaming. The deployment in these new areas involves a partnership with Samsung to implement energy-efficient infrastructure and AI-based Self-Organizing Network technology, enhancing overall network performance and flexibility. This strategic expansion underlines Vodafone Idea's commitment to advancing India's digital landscape and meeting modern connectivity demands. Investors should view this move as a positive growth opportunity, aligning with increasing market penetration of 5G services.
