21-05-2025 | 06:14 pm

Balrampur Chini’s sugar segment showed resilience with Q4 crushing down 1.73% YoY and recovery dipping only 0.44%, outperforming peers. Sugar prices stayed firm near Rs. 41/kg, supported by tight stocks and export quotas. Ethanol volumes were muted due to no price hikes on some routes, but maize-based capacity adds off-season flexibility. Management expects sugar volumes to rise slightly in FY26 and ethanol prices to track FRP increases. The upcoming 80,000-tonne PLA bioplastics plant involves Rs. 2850 Cr capex, aiming for ~Rs. 2000 Cr revenue and ~35% EBITDA margin. Focus is on sustainability, value creation, and strong cane quality with improved resistance to red rot.
