Himadri Speciality Chemical Ltd has announced a board meeting approving the acquisition of a 16.24% stake in International Battery Company, Inc. (IBC) for USD 4.43 million (approx. INR 37.47 Cr) in cash. This stake includes purchasing 6 lakh common shares and subscribing to additional common and Series A preferred shares. The partnership aims to commercialize Himadri’s LFP cathode and anode materials, leveraging IBC’s manufacturing base in South Korea and its upcoming Bengaluru Gigafactory to drive growth in next-gen energy storage for mobility and power sectors.
