Expansion includes JVs in emerging areas like NavIC chips, electro-optics, and signal intelligence. It is also targeting commercial radar markets alongside defense and space sectors, focusing on full system solutions and higher-margin domestic orders.

3. Business Developments:

Anew JV with Manjeera Digital Systems was established to manufacture NavIC chips. Astra continues its strategic partnership with Rafael (Israel) for electronic warfare and tactical radios. It actively participates in key programs including LCA Mk1A AESA radars, missile electronics, and ISRO space projects such as satellite and weather radar systems.

4. Market Position & Competitive Advantage:

A leading private defense electronics player in India with over 30 years’ experience, Astra boasts vertical integration from design to manufacturing. The order book stands at Rs. 1,952 Cr, diversified across defense (69%), space (12%), meteorology (10%), and exports (9%). Domestic revenues rose to ~90% in FY25 from 58% in FY24, supporting profitability. The company is well positioned to benefit from government policies favoring indigenous design and manufacturing.
