The Andhra Sugars Limited — Important, 29-05-2025: Closure of operations

The Andhra Sugars has announced a board meeting on the closure of its Sugar and Co-Generation Unit at Tanuku due to continued non-availability of viable sugarcane, which caused losses of ₹4.37 Cr (10.44% of total losses) in FY24-25. Crushing operations at the Bhimadole sugar unit will also be suspended for the 2025-26 season after recording ₹3.69 Cr losses (8.81% of total losses) last year. Both moves are driven by prolonged low cane availability impacting profitability.
