MRPL has secured a US patent for a novel process to produce iso-Butyl Benzene (i-BB), a crucial intermediate for the analgesic drug Brufen. Using a proprietary catalyst, the technology achieves high conversion efficiency from a low-value captive stream, cutting import dependence and supporting domestic pharma manufacturing. MRPL is progressing commercialisation with a pilot plant setup, strengthening its foothold in pharma ingredient synthesis and innovation.
