PMK is undergoing an internal leadership battle as three of its five MLAs and the general secretary back president Anbumani Ramadoss over founder Dr. Ramadoss. Anbumani has launched a state-wide padayatra to strengthen the party’s presence in Tamil Nadu and reinstated an MLA as district secretary against the founder’s stance. Around 90% of functionaries from 23 districts support Anbumani, while senior leader G K Mani and MLA R Arul remain neutral, possibly mediating. This rift could affect party cohesion and its electoral performance going forward.
