Coal India Limited — Important, 12-06-2025: General Updates

Coal India Limited has announced a board meeting. It formed a new subsidiary, CIL Rajasthan Akshay Urja Limited, a renewable energy JV with Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited. CIL holds 74% equity with an initial paid-up capital of Rs. 10 lakh. The subsidiary will develop and operate solar, wind, and other renewable power projects, selling primarily to state DISCOMs. This strategic move diversifies Coal India’s portfolio beyond coal mining into renewables.
