Vedanta Limited — Important, 17-06-2025: Updates

Vedanta has announced a board meeting to discuss the 2x growth plan of its subsidiary Hindustan Zinc Limited (HZL). HZL has approved a major expansion project to add 250 ktpa integrated zinc metal capacity at Debari, along with associated mining and milling expansions, at a capex of around Rs 12,000 Cr. This project aims to double HZL’s capacity in zinc, lead, and silver over 36 months, aligning with rising domestic and global demand. The expansion supports India’s growing zinc requirements driven by steel production and renewable energy sectors, positioning HZL for long-term value creation.
