WAAREE Energies has announced a board meeting outcome approving a change in the project location for its 6 GW solar manufacturing capacity. To overcome delays, the project will now be split across multiple sites: 3 GW modules at Samakhiali, Gujarat; 3 GW modules at Gujarat/Tamil Nadu/others; 6 GW cells at Unn, Gujarat; and 6 GW ingots and wafers at Nagpur, Maharashtra. The overall capex remains steady at around Rs. 904.96 Cr, with shifts in cost allocation across land, civil works, machinery, utilities, and contingencies. Shareholder approval will be sought via postal ballot.
