NLC India Renewables, a wholly owned subsidiary, secured a Letter of Award for three standalone Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects totaling 250 MW/500 MWh in Tamil Nadu. These projects, the first large-scale BESS for NLCIL Group, will be executed under a Build-Own-Operate model with state funding support and aim to enhance grid flexibility and on-demand power supply. Locations include Ottapidaram, Anuppankulam, and Kayathar substations. This marks a strategic move into advanced energy storage solutions, potentially boosting NLCIL’s renewable portfolio and revenue streams.
