Ruchi Infrastructure has received two tax demands from West Bengal VAT/Customs authorities. One relates to Rs. 44.23 lakh plus Rs. 24.42 lakh interest for import duty during 2014-15, challenged in the Supreme Court following a related High Court order. The other involves Rs. 28.30 lakh plus interest for customs duty and redemption fine from 2003-04 imports under a duty exemption scheme, currently under appeal. The company is legally contesting both demands and expects no impact on its operations beyond the stated financial exposures.
