Shriram Pistons & Rings Limited has announced a board meeting for the approval of the financial results for the quarter and half-year. The FY 2024-25 saw the company outperform the domestic automotive market with 7% growth vs 3.5% industry growth, driven by capacity expansions, new customer wins, and product diversification. Strategic acquisitions were made in precision moulding and EV component firms—SPR TGPEL Precision Engineering and Karna InterTech—broadening manufacturing capabilities and product portfolio beyond ICE engines. Despite a 7% dip in exports due to geopolitical challenges, the company strengthened global OEM partnerships and improved digital integration and operational efficiencies. Dividend proposed at Rs. 10/share (incl. interim). The company is enhancing sustainability with renewable energy adoption and ESG initiatives, targeting carbon neutrality by 2045.

Financial highlights (Consolidated FY 24-25 vs FY 23-24):

- Revenue from operations up 15% to Rs. 35,498 Mn

- Net profit grew 18% to Rs. 5,156 Mn

- EPS increased 14% to Rs. 115.02

- Exports at Rs. 4,840 Mn, down 7%

- Strong cashflows with net debt neutralized by cash and deposits

Operationally, SPRL advanced EV and alternative fuel technologies alongside strengthening traditional ICE components. The company continued investments in automation, digitalization, and supply chain resilience while expanding manufacturing footprint with four plants in India.

Corporate governance remains robust with renewal of technical collaborations with Fuji Oozx Inc. and Honda Foundry and strong focus on investor engagement. Board changes include re-appointments of key directors and appointment of Mr. Akihiro Ozaki as Independent Director.

Key risks include currency volatility, inflationary pressures, and challenges in EV adoption infrastructure, which SPRL mitigates via hedging, cost controls, and strategic partnerships.

Awards received emphasize excellence in manufacturing, quality, ESG performance, and supplier collaboration from top OEMs and industry bodies.

SPRL’s subsidiaries contribute meaningfully to growth, with material subsidiaries SPR Engenious Limited and step-down subsidiaries SPR EMF Innovations (EV powertrain focus), SPR Takahata Precision (precision moulding), and SPR TGPEL Precision Engineering (high-precision moulds) driving diversification.

CSR initiatives focus on healthcare, education, women’s empowerment, water conservation, and environmental sustainability impacting over 1 lakh beneficiaries, with an overall social return of Rs. 3.41 per rupee spent.

The company maintains strong internal financial controls and compliance with regulatory requirements. The audited financials reflect stable balance sheet metrics, controlled borrowings, and ongoing investments in capacity and innovation.
