Sun Pharma Advanced Research Company Ltd (SPARC) has announced a board meeting on June 30, 2025, to consider the financial results for the quarter and half-year ended June 30, 2025.

For the year ended March 31, 2025, SPARC reported total standalone income of ₹73.56 Cr, down from ₹105.02 Cr in FY24. Revenue from operations declined to ₹71.77 Cr from ₹75.55 Cr. Total expenses reduced to ₹418.78 Cr from ₹493.13 Cr, driven by lower clinical trial and professional charges, but the company posted a standalone net loss of ₹345.22 Cr versus ₹388.11 Cr last year. Basic and diluted loss per share stood at ₹10.64 compared to ₹11.96 in FY24.

On a consolidated basis (including its wholly owned subsidiary SPARCLIFE Inc.), total income was ₹73.56 Cr (₹105.02 Cr in FY24), with revenue from operations at ₹71.77 Cr (₹75.55 Cr). Consolidated net loss was ₹342.51 Cr versus ₹387.21 Cr, with loss per share of ₹10.55 compared to ₹11.93.

The balance sheet shows equity of negative ₹220.62 Cr (standalone) and negative ₹216.95 Cr (consolidated), reflecting accumulated losses. Borrowings increased to ₹100 Cr (non-current) and ₹62.60 Cr (current). Cash and cash equivalents stood at ₹25.27 Cr (standalone) and ₹26.19 Cr (consolidated).

SPARC approved raising funds up to ₹1800 Cr through securities issuance, subject to shareholder approval at the upcoming AGM.

Board changes include appointment of Ms. Rekha Warriar and Mr. Venkateswarlu Jasti as Independent Directors for five years, and re-appointment of Mr. Anilkumar Raghavan as CEO for five years from May 2026, all subject to shareholder approval.

The company continues to operate as a going concern with promoter group support despite ongoing losses. The business remains focused on pharmaceutical research and development.
