Kalpataru Projects International Limited (KPIL) has secured significant relief in its income tax reassessments. An appellate authority reduced prior tax demands for several assessment years, resulting in a net benefit of INR 1.57 Cr in demand reduction and a potential refund of INR 0.19 Cr. This follows an earlier rectification where a demand of INR 95.83 Cr for another assessment year was fully withdrawn. These reductions come against an initial aggregate demand of INR 141.31 Cr. KPIL will continue to challenge the remaining disputed matters, confident in its strong legal position, which further reduces potential financial liabilities.
