Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) has finalized the acquisition of 58.96% of SML Isuzu's share capital, gaining sole control and becoming its new promoter. This strategic shift will lead to SML Isuzu being renamed "SML Mahindra Limited," subject to necessary approvals. Concurrently, the board approved the appointment of six new directors, including new Executive Director and CEO Dr. Venkataraman Srinivas, and Executive Director Mr. Vinod Kumar Sahay. Seven previous directors have resigned due to this change in company control. This marks a new chapter under M&M's leadership, signalling potential strategic alignment.
