Kuantum Papers' Q1 FY26 results saw revenue at Rs 223 Cr and PAT at Rs 12 Cr. This was primarily due to a 25-day planned shutdown of their largest machine (PM4) for upgrades, impacting ~9,000 tons of production. Management noted EBITDA margins would've been higher otherwise. The significant Rs 735 Cr CAPEX is on track, with PM4 upgrades complete and other machines following by March 2026. Kuantum is strategically shifting towards high-value flexible food-grade and niche specialty papers, targeting 30% of its portfolio. While Q2 sees expected price declines, Q3/Q4 recovery is anticipated, reflecting a focused long-term growth strategy.
